Caledonian Green Innovation (CGI) is committed to the welfare and health and safety of all its employees and contractors and to delivering socially and environmentally responsible products to their customers.
The Board of Directors recognise the importance and implications of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It is CGI’s policy that all reasonably practicable steps will be taken to protect employees, customers, contractors and any other persons who enter its premises wherever they are situated. This information will be communicated to all concerned to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
CGI works in partnership with its own facilities and all of its suppliers both in the UK and overseas to ensure that workplace standards, health and safety, fair pay and fair employment conditions are complied with.
Risk assessments have been carried out on all work activities and copies of the assessments are available at all UK locations. Employees will receive information, instruction and training on health and safety during Induction and at any other relevant time on the hazards associated with their work activities, the controls in place to ensure safe working whenever new equipment and processes are introduced, and on any changes to safe systems of work. These requirements are also imposed on all major CGI suppliers.
All employees are encouraged to participate and contribute in health and safety activities within the workplace in order to ensure a positive health and safety culture and to serve on safety committees that are established at all primary sites.
CGI will consult and co-operate with all appropriate Enforcing Authorities, Insurance Companies, and Professional and Trade Organisations and Institutions to ensure that all policies and standards are adhered to.
It is CGI’s goal to constantly improve the company’s environmental performance and to manage the company’s activities to prevent and minimise wherever practicable, the effects of those activities on the environment. CGI aims to meet and where possible, exceed the requirements of all relevant environmental legislation and strives to make good environmental practice a priority.
