CGI and its allies have one of the largest independent Mechanical Engineering teams in the UK. The department is comprised of the Mechanical Design and Stress Analysis Groups consisting of over 100 engineers. The team provides solutions from full ‘turnkey’ projects to individual component design and analysis. CGI has a proven track record in delivering these services to many blue chip clients such as DSRL, Transocean, BP & Subsea7. The team operates in a quality assured environment, with state of the art engineering tools and continues to provide complete engineering solutions. The supporting Stress Analysis team consists of multi‐disciplined engineering specialists, forming one of the largest stress and structural analysis facilities in the UK. Providing support to Nuclear, Mechanical and Aerospace teams and delivering a comprehensive analysis service including: static & dynamic analysis, fatigue & damage tolerance, finite element analysis, multi body dynamics, composite analysis and pipe stressing.
We have experience of Design Engineering, Installation and Commissioning of both primary and secondary electrical systems including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers and protection. Particular capabilities include: In‐house design and engineering / CAD team working on new build and interface engineering projects; Switchgear and control panel design, procurement and build; Installation and testing capabilities, with a proven track record of new build, integration of new and existing switchgear, protection refurbishments, SF6 handling and testing, fully structured and phased site‐work packages, TP141 commissioning engineers; Post‐installation services including full commissioning of transformers and substation protection, site demobilisation, service and support.
Site services cover the Installation and Commissioning of transformers, switchgear and protection relay panels for transmission and distribution power systems up to 400kV including gas insulated and open terminal equipment. Commissioning of Multifunctional IED Relays is carried out utilising the latest computer controlled 3 phase test sets to digitally generate high accuracy test signals.

CONTROL, ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION
Our, Control, Electrical and Instrumentation team is centred on a formidable team of dedicated engineers, designers and draughtsmen. This provides our clients with a flexible outsourced solution, capable of delivering complex, challenging, high and low voltage design projects.
The group provides initial concepts, through to production of drawings and documentation, to commissioning and testing. The Control, Electrical and Instrumentation team includes the provision of designs for Building Services (power, lighting and heating), Motor Control Centres, Switch Rooms, and Process Control including microprocessor systems (PLC). This includes front end design, detail design, manufacture, optioneering and plant layouts in both Mechanical and Control, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines, as well as design support during plant installation and commissioning.
One division is a specialist control systems integrator providing high quality industrial automation and information systems. With a wealth of experience in managing projects covering several industry sectors including Transportation, Process Control, Manufacturing, Power, and Environmental, Ematics delivers innovative solutions to strict quality & safety standards.

CGI has developed its Piping systems capability into a major provider of engineering design expertise in the field of Wet Process Engineering. The Piping systems capability has for many years supported the nuclear sites. The team has provided seamless interfaces with the Sellafield site client teams on many varied campaigns ranging from minor plant upgrades to fully detailed piped installations.
Additionally we also have a wealth of experience in the Sellafield Sites Continuous Operational Safety Reports (COSR) work, life extension reviews and a range of site based activities; such as site surveys, walk‐downs and design support during installation and commissioning of plant and pipe‐work. The team prides itself in having, on occasion, been called upon by our client to provide emergency rapid response to unscheduled events. CGI firmly believe that our method of working closely with our client in the development of design solutions is a key in the provision of an efficient and cost effective service.
The Stress Analysis team is a specialist capability that supports the Piping team and has extensive experience in design analysis, assessment and validation of new and existing piping systems. The Stress team are able undertake analytical work for static, thermal, dynamic and fatigue load cases to design codes such as; ASME III, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 and BS806 dependent upon the clients requirements, utilising the latest piping software packages such as CAESAR II and PSA5.
Complementing our existing Mechanical, Piping and CE&I capabilities within the group has established a Ventilation and HVAC team. The team is an expanding part of the group core offering. Capabilities include: Ventilation Optioneering, Front End Design, Concept Design, Detail Design, Justification Documentation, Calculations, Control Systems Philosophy, CFD Modelling, Fume Cupboard Containment Development, System Energy Analysis, Building Regulations, Sustainability and Noise Assessment
The use of specialist software packages (such as HevaComp, CF Design and MEP) furtherenhances our capability, and enables projects to be handled by dedicated project delivery teams. We carry out HVAC designs for many of the major nuclear and industrial sites within the UK and are experienced in producing: Design Justification Reports, Design Assessment Reports, Plant Improvements, Ventilation Footprint Analysis, Space Management, Services Coordination, Fire & Smoke Analysis, CO Emissions and Thermal Analysis Services Coordination.
